Longshaw Estate via Carl Wark, Higger Tor and Over Owler Tor
Information
Details
Having visited this area so many times but never having stood on top of Carl Wark or Higger Tor we finally set aside some time to accomplish this goal. Once again we parked at the National Trust's Longshaw Estate car park (I think it is the National Trust's home made cakes which attracts us) and set off for Carl Wark.
Considering both the weather and lighting conditions were rather changeable I think I managed a few half-decent photographs. I was also testing the built in GPS of a newly acquired Ipaq 6915 PDA which of course was totally unnecessary with todays route and weather though it did work well enough in the woodland at Bole Hill to pinpoint our position while trying to follow the myriad of paths down the slopes of Padley Gorge towards Grindleford railway station.
