Oil company helicopter, Buzuluk Airfield, Buzuluk
Vasilly and Irina dropped us off in Buzuluk. A phone call later and my wife Irina had arranged for one of her friends to drive us back to Koltubanka. As we drove through the northern outskirts of Buzuluk Irina's friend asked if we would like to see an airfield that he had access to.
The airfield may look abandoned but the local oil companies make use of it for their helicopters. As usual there were a couple of security guards in evidence though they did not bother us. Unfortunately a couple of rather large and menacing guard dogs were roaming around so I was a little nervous about wandering too far from the car.
