Irina dropped me off at Moscar House and I walked back to Bradwell. The weather started off quite bright and sunny if very windy, but by the time I reached Ashopton Viaduct dark clouds had gathered and a hail storm soon commenced. I took shelter behind a telephone box (the only shelter available) and waited for the storm to subside.

I continued up the steep ascent towards Crook Hill and just before the farm buildings was forced yet again to take shelter from another hail storm. This time I had to join the sheep behind a dry stone wall.

I reached the very exposed area of Open Hagg and yet another hail storm. This time there was absolutely no place to shelter and no point in trying to get over-trousers on in what was now quite a gale. Despite being soaked to the skin, quick drying walking trousers together with a very strong wind and the return of the sun soon returned me to a reasonably dry state.

The rest of the walk was very pleasant with a beautiful sunny afternoon. Typical British weather.
