The Old Mill

Vernon is probably best noted for the Église Collégiale Notre-Dame and the Old Mill, though the old town centre is well worth exploring.

Description

Most visitors to this area are most likely heading to Monet's garden at Giverny and probably never give Vernon a passing glance. Arriving over the modern bridge one could quite easily gain the wrong impression of this town. Travel a little further towards the centre and there are many outstanding ancient buildings together with the impressive Église Collégiale Notre-Dame. It's worth spending a few hours meandering around the back streets to get a sense of the real Vernon.
