The Gate House, Brockhampton Estate

Brockhampton Estate was bequeathed to the National Trust in 1946. The main feature of the estate is Lower Brockhampton, a 'black and white' timber-framed manor house dating from the 1300s.

Description 

The entrance to the property is through a timber-framed gatehouse which straddles the moat that surrounds the house.

Further exploration using the numerous footpaths that criss-cross the estate is highly recommended. The estate consists of farm and woodland together with several lakes, all of which provide an habitat that attracts a rich variety of wildlife.
