Since our holidays were nearly over, and return to work imminent, we decided to get away for a few days in order to partake of some walking and much needed fresh air.

Preferring not to drive too far I booked a room at a guest house in the Yorkshire Dales, and with the weather remaining unpredicatable (rain and snow forecast) I thought it wise not to venture too far off the main roads. I booked a room at the 'Old Vicarage' guest house in the village of West Witton, Wensleydale and early Friday morning we threw the walking gear into the back of the car and headed 125 km up the A1 towards Leyburn.
